Why I Picked This Up
I’m a longtime Abby Jimenez reader. Her books are reliably warm, emotionally grounded, and quietly romantic, and the Part of Your World series is one I’ve loved from the start.
I don’t usually read ebooks — I’m almost always an audiobook listener — but The Situationship isn’t available on audio. Since it’s a short story (and listed as Book 3.5 in the series), I decided to read it after finishing the rest of the books.
I wasn’t expecting much beyond a quick bonus scene.
What I got was something much sweeter than that.
What This Story Actually Is
The Situationship is short, simple, and very focused — but it still carries the same emotional quality and character warmth Abby Jimenez is known for.
There’s no heavy plot twist.
No emotional chaos.
No need to brace yourself.
Instead, it feels like a gentle exhale at the end of the series — a moment that reminds you why these characters (and this world) mattered in the first place.
It’s the kind of story that doesn’t try to impress you — it just quietly works.
Expectation vs. Reality
What I expected:
A quick, skippable extra. Something “nice, but unnecessary.”
What it actually felt like:
A warm, satisfying button on the series — short, heartfelt, and emotionally complete in its own small way.
It didn’t overstay its welcome.
It didn’t dilute the main books.
It enhanced them.
Who This Is For (and Who It Isn’t)
You’ll probably enjoy this if you:
- Loved the Part of Your World series and want one last emotional check-in
- Enjoy short romance reads that still feel polished and intentional
- Like low-drama, high-warmth storytelling
- Appreciate “bonus content” that actually adds value
You might skip it if you:
- Haven’t read the series and don’t plan to
- Want a standalone story with big emotional stakes
- Prefer plot-heavy or high-conflict romance

I’d genuinely encourage you to read it. I’m glad I did.
Final Thoughts
The Situationship didn’t surprise me with drama or complexity — it surprised me with how complete and heartwarming it felt for such a short story.
It’s not essential reading.
But it is meaningful reading — especially if you already love this series.
Sometimes, that’s exactly what a good short story should be.
